The sheep are doing great. The are all carrying enough weight for the breeding season. I saw Krios mark Sephie on 8/17, Mandy on 9/01, and Molly on 9/23. I haven't seen Krios mark Tabitha but we were gone to the fair for a week, one week after he was placed with the ewes, and could have easily marked her then.

The ram lamb, Krios, was born in December and is a Hampshire/Suffolk cross. Krios and the four ewes are located where we can see them out of our front window.  read more »

We sold Mandy, MO2, and MA2 on Saturday.

Our Club Lamb project includes Krios, Molly, Sephie, and Tabitha. Two ewe lambs were kept as breeding ewes because they are long, stylish and have good balance to their bodies.

Three of the five lambs that we have left on our farm are market lambs and have been sold for meat.

Christi has decided to sell one of the ewe lambs since she is keeping the sister. If she is not sold in a couple of months, she will be added to the Club Lamb project, along with her sister.

2002 Holland Lop Archive

Updated 6/30/02

The breeding that was attempted on 4/26 did not take. Darla did not have any kits.

I was unable to go the the Big Valley Rabbit Association Rabbit Show on 5/11 because I was sick.

I am going to the Pacific West Rabbit & Cavy Show on 7/13. I am entering Darwin, Schmidt's HH Phebe (aka Sheila), Stu, and Curry's Ralph. I will try to sell Darla and Ralph at the show.

I will not be taking my rabbits to the County Fair this year. The show is not sanctioned and I don't want to stress my animals out any more than I have to.
