We didn't go to the CR&CS Rabbit Show in Lodi on 11/26. I woke up at 5:30 a.m. and went to Christi's room to wake her. She informed me she didn't feel like going to the show, so we didn't go.

We are not going to the show in Yuba City on 12/3 because Christi told our neighbor that she would care and feed their horses from Thursday through Sunday evening.

The next show we are planning on attending is the SJRF Double Youth Show in Angels Camp on 1/07/06. Christi will have some juniors that will be ready to be shown.

I went to The Rabbit Club, Double Show, in Stockton on 11/05. There were 100 Holland Lops in Show A and 96 Holland Lops in Show B.

Hopp Inn Fog was unable to attend this show because two days before the show he broke a toenail. I substituted Hopp Inn Morton in Fog's place, even though he was one day past his six month birthday. Morton didn't do too bad considering he was competing against the "big boys". You can see all of their placements under Hopp Inn Show Results.

Chris Zemny was the Judge for Show A. Hopp Inn Shake place 1st in her class and won her 4th Leg. Tom Keyes was the Judge for Show B. Hopp Inn Shake placed 1st in her class, won Best of Variety, and then Best Opposite Sex of Breed, to win her 5th Leg.

I purchased three rabbits at the show. Gingerbread's Bruce, a Broken Tortoise Shell Holland Lop Sr. Buck; Gingerbread's Cid, a Broken Smoke Pearl Holland Lop Jr. Buck, from Kelly Burkhardt of Gingerbread Hollands; and ALA's Smokey Joe, a Broken Blue Tortoise Shell Sr. Buck, from Amy Hiroshima of Amy's Little Angels.

I went to the California Rabbit & Cavy Show on 10/09. In the solid variety, I took Gard's Smyke (Sr. Buck), Hopp Inn Morton (Jr. Buck), and Hopp Inn Amy (Jr. Doe). In the broken variety, I took LOV's Cowboy (Sr. Buck).

Brooke Baldwin was the Judge for Show A. Hopp Inn Morton placed 1st in his class and received Best of Variety. Hopp Inn Amy placed 1st in her class and received Best Opposite of Variety.

I purchased an Otter Jr. Buck and an Otter Jr. Doe from Denise Sousa of Wild Hare Rabbits. I named the buck, Sousa's Isaac, and the doe, Sousa's Jazelle.

I also purchased a Chinchilla Jr. Buck from Christina Topf of The Rabbit Hill. According to my receipt his name RR Frisco Boy. I expect to get his pedigree at The Rabbit Club, Double Show, in Stockton on 11/05.

I am very happy with the quality of the juniors I have in my barn. I can't keep them all and I need to free up some holes.

I took photos of some of the rabbits that were cooperative as well as those that were not.

My beloved Jake died on 8/25. He was perfectly fine and I don't know why he died. I have his offspring and I am able to further his lines. Even though HH Tank has 11 Legs, Jake was the best buck that I had in my barn. He was unable to be shown because of an eye injury.

My chinchilla buck, Charlie Brown, died on 9/30 from wry neck. He came down with wry neck the first week of September and was treated immediately with Ivermectin. He appeared to be recovering until the week before he died. I have his offspring and I am able to further his lines.

My mom divided two three-hole cages into two six-hole cages. She then added two additional cages to a four-hole making it a six hole cage. Since I now have eight more holes I decided I didn't want the 7-hole hanging cage because it would have required a lot of work to set up and wouldn't be close to my other rabbits. My rabbitry now has 42 holes.

I went to the Big Valley Rabbit Association Rabbit Show on 9/17. I took rabbits to show, sell, and raffle.

I will be going to the California Rabbit & Cavy Show in Napa on 10/09. I am taking four rabbits, Gard's Smyke, LOV's Cowboy, Hopp Inn Morton, and Hopp Inn Amy. Gard's Smyke will be for sale.

I have been told that I can pick up the 7-hole cage anytime after fair. I will be getting them soon.

I didn't make it to the Triple Crown show in Corallitos. I had too much to do to get ready for fair.

I only took two rabbits to the fair. HH Tank was molting so he didn't go.

THANK YOU to Hal & Beverly Timmer for sponsoring the Best of Breed Holland Lop. This year the sponsors made it possible to receive blankets that look like the 2005 Amador County Fair, Days of Swine and Roses premium book.

I need more cages because I have so many juniors. I have a couple of rabbit breeder friends that have some cages that they are going to sell me. One of the breeders has a set of 7 holes that are hanging cages. After I hang them I will have room for another set of 8 hanging cages.

I am thinking about going to the Holland Lop Triple Crown show in Corallitos on 7/16. If I go, Mom & I will have to leave the night before and stay overnight.

I am getting ready for the 2005 Amador County Fair which is scheduled for 7/28 through 7/31. The rabbit show is on 7/27. I plan on taking HH Tank (Sr. Solid Buck), Hopp Inn Fog (Jr. Solid Buck), & Hopp Inn Kiwi (Jr. Solid Doe).

I had another bad experience with the feed I was feeding my rabbits. I had the first bag of feed analyzed and the company said that there was nothing wrong with the food. The food is okay with my adult rabbits, it only affects the kits. I no longer feed that particular brand of food.

All of my kits were three weeks old and only starting to eat. I found one dead out of three and one of the remaining two had diarrhea. I checked my other litter of kits and found three out of the five also had diarrhea. I removed the feed immediately and had a bag of show feed that I was able to feed them until I was able to get to the feed store the next day. I gave the four sick kits two doses of kaopectate over a period of a few days and they are all cured.

I haven't been to any shows at all this year. I only have one rabbit that is show age because of my Christmas fiasco. All of my does are now breeding age and either have kits or are hopefully bred.

I received an email from a girl that I sold a Broken Smoke Pearl rabbit to. She told me that the rabbit is a definite show rabbit and wins Best of Breeds. She also won a Best in Show. As a breeder of unusual colored rabbits, that email made me very proud. It makes me happy to hear good things about rabbits that I breed.

I had a really horrible experience over the holidays. I bought a bag of rabbit food that was bad and without knowing, I fed it to all of my rabbits. The second day I fed, I noticed my 7 weeks old babies were ill with loose bowels. I took out the food immediately and fed all my rabbits grass hay. I ended up losing two rabbits before Christmas and three after Christmas. I lost three rabbits out of a litter of four (7 weeks old) and two rabbits out of a litter of three (12 weeks old). The only good thing that happened is that all of my adult rabbits are okay because the food didn't affect them like it did the young ones.

I haven't been to a rabbit show since the California Rabbit & Cavy Double Show on 11/27/04 because I'm breeding my adult rabbits and lost my three month old doe that was entered in the Angels Camp show.
