Christi began raising Mini Rex rabbits in 2001, as part of her 4-H Project. We began attending rabbit shows to exhibit the animals that she purchased. We discovered she had a very good eye for the rabbit standards, and she began her breeding program.
The first Holland Lop rabbit Christi would own, was a doe that was purchased on April 6, 2002. She continued to exhibit Mini Rex and her one and only Holland Lop, until she was given a Holland Lop buck on February 8, 2003. Once she had a buck to go with her doe, she began breeding Holland Lops.
After many years of raising rabbits, Christi is no longer interested and in May, 2010, she decided that she would give them to me. I now have two Holland Lop projects that I am looking forward to working with. I have always enjoyed the Holland Lops and after many years of being hands off, I need to learn how to clip nails and tattoo ears. I wasted no time in getting the does bred and my first litter arrived in my barn on June 11.
We acquired a trio of quality standard Rex rabbits on March 24, 2007, when a local breeder was kind enough to give them to us. Trina is now in charge of the Rex rabbits and she wasted no time in getting her does bred either. Her first litter arrived in her barn on June 15 and she is expecting more!
We are both looking forward to our future in breeding and exhibiting these lovely animals.
