Horses

Welcome to Curryosity Farm located in Jackson, California

Christi is the owner of the two remaining horses that are here on our farm. She fell in love with horses and learned to ride in 2002 when ouur neighbor taught her to ride his eight year old Quarter Horse Mare.

After riding for about a year, it was time for Christi to get her own horse. She purchased Montana's Sweet Bar, aka Chloe, a registered six year old Appendix Quarter horse on March 6, 2003. Christi and Chloe continued to take riding lessons from our neighbor until she purchased a couple more horses.

Christi purchased a 3 year old registered Quarter Horse, Trojan Tonto One, and her 2-1/2 month old colt on August 18, 2004. She named the mare Willow and her colt Roland Deschain of Gillead, aka Roland.

Willow injured her shoulder during a nasty storm on March 30, 2005. When the vet came to see her, he was uncertain whether it would be a permanent injury, so he told Christi to go ahead and breed her. Montana's Dun It Once, aka Vergil, was born on April 11, 2006.

In March, 2007, Roland was sold. We visited Roland in 2008, and discovered he was well loved and cared for.

In April, 2008, Willow was sold as a brood mare. Willow went to a farm with several other Red Dun horses and was put in a pasture with three other mares and a stallion so she could be bred.

Christi attempted to breed her mare Chloe to her stallion Vergil, and was disappointed to find out that Chloe did not conceive.

Vergil was castrated in October, 2008, and has adjusting to life as a gelding.
