Chloe hasn't had shoes on for awhile. My Ferrier's partner had an injury and cancelled our appointment and since I haven't called to reschedule, I haven't been taking lessons. I have been working with Willow on haltering and leading. She is learning very quickly. When I first purchased her, she was very wary of people, ropes, whips, and halters. That was around two months ago. Her progress is astounding. I can now walk up to her with a halter and rope swinging in my arms and put the halter on her head. Two months ago, if I were to walk up to Willow with a halter or rope in my hand, she would run away. It would take me about an hour to finally get a halter on her. She leads very well. She yields well to pressure and sits tied all day. She loves to be groomed and scratched. I put a saddle pad on her back and she acted as if she'd had a saddle pad on her back her whole life. She should be very easy to start under saddle.
Roland is a very nice colt. He is now 4-1/2 months old. He is very good around all people and animals. He loves to chase dogs, particularly Theo. Roland's halter work is going well. I can put the halter on him and he is leading pretty well. He's learning to yield to pressure. He's learned that when I move away and put some pressure on his halter, to come to me.
Both Willow and Roland are very sweet, quick learners.

On 8/18, I purchased a 3 year old Registered American Quarter Horse mare and 2-1/2 month old colt. I named the mare Willow and the colt Roland Deschain of Gilead.

Chloe and I are still taking lessons. I didn't take her to the fair because I wasn't ready to show her. My trainer and I have decided to focus on English riding. We are doing this so we can advance to jumping.
My trailer is now wired and I am able to use it but I still need to put in the plexiglass.

Chloe and I are still taking lessons and we are learning together.
I bought a 2 horse trailer from my neighbor, Tony. It had a new floor but needed some work. My Dad sanded, put primer, then painted it white. It looks really nice now. My Dad still has to wire the lights and install the plexiglass.
I got Chloe her yearly vaccinations on 5/3. She had a terrible reaction to a couple of them. The vet administered two vaccinations and had me administer two more a couple of days later. After the vet gave her one of the shots she went lame because she was sore. I called the vet and he told me to watch to make sure she didn't abscess. It took her a few days before she got better. After I gave her the remaining shots her neck was swollen and sore so she had a few more days of rest and relaxation.

On 3/6/03, I purchased my first horse, Montana's Sweet Bar, also known as Chloe. Chloe is a brown Registered Appendix Quarter Horse, six year old mare. Her birthday is 2/20/98.
I ride Chloe both Western and English. We both enjoy doing Gymkhana and things having to do with going really fast. We have never participated in a real gymkhana, just during my lessons. I think we were the fastest of all of the students at the barn.
